Teatro Audaz reaches an incredible milestone — our 10th season — we proudly announce this season’s theme:


AUDAZ X: A Decade of Familia.

This season honors the artists, supporters, sponsors, and gente who have grown with us, believed in us, and helped build a home rooted in bold storytelling, cultura, and love.

It’s a celebration of where we’ve been, who we are, and the familia that continues to carry us forward.

CON MIS MANOS: Everyone’s Familia

“Con Mis Manos,” written by Misael Martinez, is a bilingual production about how a Hispanic family comes to grips with their mother dying from cancer. Set in Deep South Texas, the drama centers around the Gutierrez family, and follows David as he looks back at his father’s way of handling his wife’s illness.

An Old Sweet Song

When a failed musician begins his paternity leave, repressed grief for the loss of his alcoholic grandmother finally has begins to surface. He must now sort through complex emotions of resentment and remorse as he relives some of his worst memories in order to come to terms with her ways of living and her death.

Originally showcased in Teatro Audaz’s 1st annual Nuestras Historias, An Old Sweet Song is a dramatic play that grapples with guilt, shame, grief, and the loss that comes with it.

Esperanza Rising

Adapted by Alvaro Saar Rios from Pam Muñoz Ryan's novel, "Esperanza Rising" is the story of a Mexican pampered landowner's daughter who is suddenly forced to start over at the bottom as a migrant farmworker in the United States during the Great Depression.
